I am agender artist; currently attending The University of North Texas for my BFA in Studio Art. I was born in Ohio, but currently reside in Texas.
My main choice of medium is oil paint on canvas; I also have worked with printmaking techniques, and made artist books.
My work centers on themes of light, identity, and small moments; these come from the visuals I see in my day to day first, which I then capture, and assign appropriate subject matter and feelings to.
I mainly draw inspiration from Expressionist artists.
There is a lot of appeal for a near realism style for me. Joanna Karpowicz hits home in particular with this quote from her website, “Although realism is not that relevant to me, I try to keep a certain level of it – just enough to put you there, with me.
